Recently I had the opportunity to take pictures of a nice and sympathetic Kate, who decided to do a brand portrait photoshoot. She needed new and professional content not only for her social media, but also for further use within her presentation. In these days and time, when a personal brand is just as important as a corporate one, Kate was very aware of the importance of the first impression. So we created a series of photos together that not only captured her personality, but also supported her brand.
Preparation: The key to a successful photo shoot
Before the photoshoot, we discussed together what her ideas and goals were. She knew she wanted to capture different aspects of her personality – a professional but also a bit playful, human approach. All of this, of course, with her industry and target audience in mind. Together we chose appropriate locations for the shoot and outfits that would correspond with her personal brand.
In addition, we also looked at how Kate wanted to impact her audience. She had a clear idea of how she wanted to be perceived: professional, but not overly formal; friendly, but still with a certain distance that inspires respect. This was very valuable to me as a photographer because it helped me to better understand the style and mood we wanted to create in the photos.
The day of the shoot: Relaxed atmosphere and natural poses
When the day of the photoshoot arrived, the atmosphere was exactly what we needed – relaxed, easy-going and natural. Kate was very open and friendly from the start, which showed in the final photos. We tried to create an atmosphere that didn’t feel like she was in front of the lens, but more like she was at a nice meeting.
We alternated between more formal and more informal scenes to show different sides of Kate. The photos in the business setting captured her professionalism and focus on the goal.
It was also important for me to capture her natural smile, as it was a key element of her personal brand. After all, Kate believes that smiling is the best way to break the ice and build trust with customers and clients – and I totally agree.
The result: Authentic content for a personal brand
When I saw the final images after the shoot, I knew we had achieved what Kate and I set out to do. The photos felt natural and authentic, just the way we wanted them to. Plus, they beautifully captured her personal brand – professional, friendly and approachable.
Kate was very happy with the result and immediately started using the photos not only on social media, but also in various other formats. After all, a photo shoot like this is not just about a one off output, but about building trust and a professional image over the long term.
Conclusion: Photos with the storyline
This day reminded me once again how important it is to listen to your clients and really understand their needs and goals when doing a portrait brand shoot. Shooting with Kate was a joy because we were working on something that had a deeper meaning to her than just new profile photos.
A portrait brand shoot is a great way to create visual content that not only has aesthetic value, but more importantly, soul.
If you too are thinking about how to improve your personal presentation, don’t hesitate and let’s create something special together!
